This workshop is an excellent way to become up to date on the current grants available.

Ontario Trillium Foundation

Writing Successful Proposals - Getting funding for your arts project.

Session Overview: The Ontario Trillium Foundation funds projects in the human service, sports and recreation, arts and culture and environmental sectors. We work with community partners to make strategic investments to build healthy, sustainable and caring communities in Ontario. Come to the session and find out what's new at OTF, who's eligible to apply, how to fill out an application and how grants are reviewed.

Speaker- Maggie Fischbuch is a program manager at the Halton/Peel office of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, and has been with OTF for the past 8 years. She has long term experience in the non-profit sector with particular expertise in planning and funding.

Brampton & Area Community Foundation

How to Apply for a Grant from the BACF

Session Overview: The Brampton and Area Community Foundation (BACF) builds and manages permanent endowment funds and other gifts. The BACF is Brampton's only community foundation - and therefore the only Brampton-based community foundation to provide funding, through grants, to charitable organizations. Learn how your group may apply at this session and how the Brampton Arts Council may be able to assist not-for-profit organizations that are members but not charitable.

Speaker - James Boyd, CEO, Brampton and Area Community Foundation. Jim has been the CEO/Executive Director of the Brampton and Area Community Foundation since June 2004. Before then, Jim worked in real estate, banking with the Royal Bank of Canada and finance-brokering for importers of manufactured products. Jim's background in sales, finance and politics provided the experience necessary to run an organization, such as a foundation, that deals in large financial gifts, trust agreements and adherence to Canada Revenue Agency regulatory requirements. In Jim's time at the Brampton and Area Community Foundation, assets have increased from $1.2 to $4.7 million; grants to charities have increased from less than 20 to over 230. Jim graduated from St. Andrew's College in 1983; University of Toronto (Victoria College) in 1987 with a B.A. in History and Political Studies.
